BLS for Healthcare Provider (Basic Life Support)

Audience: EMS, doctors, physician assistants, nurses, dentists and respiratory therapists who require a certification

Description: adult and pediatric CPR, use of the face bag and mask and AED, information on stroke, cardiac arrest and special resuscitation situations

Class length: approximately 4 1/2 hours

Heartsaver First Aid

Audience: anyone who may need to respond to an emergency due to job or regulatory requirements needing a certification

Description: instruction on how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives; general principles, medical injury emergencies and optional environmental emergencies

Class length: approximately 3 1/2 hours; with CPR and AED 6 1/2 hours; including infant CPR 7 1/2 hours

Family and Friends

Audience: family, friends and the general community who want to learn CPR but do not require a certification. Also great for middle and high school students not requiring a certification.

Description: instruction on CPR and choking for adults, children and infants

Class length: adult/child or infant only approximately 1 1/4 hours; adult/child and infant approximately 2 1/2 hours

 

 

Heartsaver CPR and AED

Audience: anyone who may need to respond to a cardiac emergency on the job or for regulatory requirements needing a certification

Description: adult/child and infant CPR, adult/child AED use, actions for choking in adults, children and infants, use of barrier devices for all ages

Class length: approximately 3 1/2 hours; 2 1/2 hours without infant CPR and choking

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid

Audience: anyone involved in childcare who may need to respond to an emergency due to job or regulatory requirements needing a certification

Description: instruction on how to manage pediatric illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives; first aid basics, medical and injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, other optional first aid topics, CPR and AED

Class length: approximately 7 1/2 hours
